Deakin timetables

Enter your classes from STAR into Smoov - just add your subject codes and class times.

1. 1Open STAR and note the class times for each of your subjects.
2. 2Add each subject in Smoov with its lecture, tutorial and lab times.
3. 3Block out your shifts and hard nos, then pick what matters: no 8ams, fewer days on campus, a proper lunch break.
4. 4Smoov checks every combination and shows you the best few options, with what each one costs you.
5. 5Pick one and register those classes in STAR.

• Takes your classes from STAR with a few minutes of typing
• Blocks out work shifts and anything else that doesn't move
• Works to what you care about: fewer days on campus, no 8ams, a proper lunch break
• Shows 2 to 4 options side by side, with what each one costs you
• Sends your timetable to Google Calendar or any calendar app
• Runs in your browser, so your timetable stays on your device

• Deakin's trimester system means three separate enrolment and class registration cycles per year - if you study full-time across trimesters, you will go through STAR allocation three times annually.
• Use TimeEdit (accessible via the Deakin student portal) to view provisional timetables before STAR opens - this lets you plan around work shifts or personal commitments before class registration locks in.
• Deakin heavily promotes Cloud Campus (fully online) units - if a unit is listed as Cloud Campus in STAR, it has no on-campus class component and will not require timetable selection.
