Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026

Service Description

Smoov is a client-side university timetable optimiser. It processes your class data locally in your browser to generate optimised schedule options. Smoov is available as a free tier with optional Premium upgrades.

Operator

Smoov is operated by an individual based in New South Wales, Australia. Smoov is not a registered company. You can contact the operator at contact@getsmoov.app.

Accounts

Accounts are optional and only required for Premium features. Authentication is handled via Supabase magic link (email OTP). You are responsible for maintaining access to your email address.

Payments

Premium subscriptions are billed at A$7.99 per semester via Stripe and auto-renew until cancelled. You will receive an email reminder before each renewal. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal, with no cancellation fee.

Payment is processed entirely by Stripe - Smoov never sees or stores your card details.

Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis - contact us within 7 days of purchase if you're unsatisfied. This is in addition to any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Abuse, spam, or disrupt SmoovSync rooms
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer the solver or circumvent tier limits
  • Use automated tools to scrape or overload the service
  • Impersonate others or use the service for unlawful purposes

Disclaimers

Schedules generated by Smoov are suggestions based on the data you provide. They are not guaranteed to be accurate, conflict-free, or accepted by your university. Always verify your final enrolment through your university's official system.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any consumer guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator's liability for any claim arising from your use of Smoov is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months prior to the claim.

For any non-excludable consumer guarantees, the operator's liability is limited to re-supplying the service or paying the cost of having the service re-supplied.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach the acceptable use terms above. You may stop using Smoov at any time and cancel your subscription through the billing portal.

On termination, your local data remains in your browser. Server-side data (authentication and billing records) will be deleted on request.

Intellectual Property

Smoov, its name, branding, and source code belong to the operator. Your timetable data remains yours.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email (for Premium users) or an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of Smoov after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
